Why you can expect a steady diet of preventive care reminders from LifeWise
One of the many nice things about modern medicine is that there are more tools than ever to help keep you healthy and stay ahead of issues before they become more difficult and expensive to treat.
One such tool: preventive visit reminders.
As a LifeWise member, you can expect to see periodic messages arrive in your inbox or cell phone about wellness screenings or checkups for which you are due.
Treatments for cancer and a wide variety of other preventable health issues are more effective when they are caught early. Preventive care screenings with your provider are the key to early detection and treatment.
Along with general wellness checkups (many doctors recommend a checkup every year), you may see screening reminders for mammograms, diabetes, colorectal or cervical cancer, or reminders for other issues based on your age or other considerations.
Notices will include specific information about the type of screening or checkup being recommended, along with your provider’s name, clinic name, contact information, and address.
Preventive screenings and checkups are covered at 100 percent by your LifeWise health plan when you see your assigned in-network doctor. You won’t pay a deductible, coinsurance, or copays.
When you get your notice for a screening or checkup, schedule an appointment or talk with your primary care provider about next steps.
Remember to see your assigned Primary Care Provider (PCP). If you would like to change your assigned provider, please call LifeWise customer support at 800-817-3056 (TTY:711), Monday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, PT.
At LifeWise, we’re committed to being your partner in good health and to help you close the gap between health and care.
