How to experience healthy aging at any age

You don’t have to be a person of a certain age to start thinking about healthy aging. We’re all aging, all the time. Therefore, we should all consider ways to support our health through each phase of life.
Consider our Three Cs of Healthy Aging: consistency, continuity, and connection.
Consistency
See doctors on a regular basis to stay ahead of issues before they become more advanced, harder to treat, and more expensive to pay for. Stay up to date on vaccinations or medications for on-going health concerns. Take advantage of annual checkups or regular health screenings.
Preventive care visits with your provider are covered under your LifeWise health plan. Also, sign up for digital health messages to get personalized healthcare updates on your phone.
Continuity
Establish a relationship with the same primary care provider (PCP) who knows your history and has immediate access to all of your patient records. With stronger patient and provider care alliances, you can be more proactive in your own health, and you and your provider can make better and faster care decisions.
If you don’t have a PCP, we’ll provide one for you so you know where to go for care. To view your PCP on file, log in to your secure portal account, or call and ask customer service. You can change the PCP to whom you’ve been assigned at any time and at no cost. Again, just call customer service.
Connection
Sometimes, care can’t wait, and you need urgent care or the emergency room. Other times, you may need to plan for something different, such as surgery or a blood test. Regardless, specialized care is more seamless when you have an established relationship with a primary care provider who is connected to a larger in-network healthcare system. Larger healthcare systems typically include caregivers and medical specialists in hospitals, clinics, and centers who are nearby, linked, and work together to meet your care needs and goals.
With connected care, appointments are easier to book and timelier. Plus, your medical history can be shared quickly and securely. Your LifeWise health plan can also connect you to mental health care and alternative care, not to mention fitness programs that can help you keep your body and mind sharp.
